TapeSum Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 12, 2026
TapeSum: Construction Calc is an iOS measurement calculator provided by Vicky Mawasi. This policy explains how the app handles information and how to contact us at tapesum@gmail.com.
Measurements and saved work
Your measurement inputs, calculation names, exact results, rounding settings, named worksheets and calculation history are stored locally on your device. TapeSum does not upload this content to a developer-operated server or to RevenueCat. The app does not provide an account, CloudKit synchronization or a cloud worksheet service.
Appearance, rounding defaults and whether you dismissed the guide invitation are also saved locally. Unfinished calculation drafts are held in memory; do not rely on an unfinished draft surviving termination of the app.
Your device’s backup or transfer services may include app data according to your Apple settings. Those services are separate from TapeSum’s app functionality and are governed by Apple’s terms.
Apple purchases and RevenueCat
TapeSum uses Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat to load Pro purchase options, validate purchases, restore paid access and check subscription or lifetime entitlement status. RevenueCat can be contacted at app launch and when the app becomes active, as well as during purchase-related interactions. These requests can occur even if you do not buy Pro. Core measurement calculations do not require a network connection.
Apple processes payment. TapeSum does not receive your full payment-card details or Apple Account password. RevenueCat processes purchase and transaction information and a generated app-user identifier to associate entitlement records without requiring a TapeSum account.
The RevenueCat SDK also sends technical request information, including app and SDK versions, operating-system and device information, preferred locales, storefront information when available, and the Apple identifier for vendor when available. Network services necessarily receive an IP address when handling a request. TapeSum does not attach measurement values, worksheet names, your email address or other custom profile attributes to these requests.
See RevenueCat’s privacy information and Apple’s privacy policy for their services. Purchase and entitlement information is used to provide paid access, restore purchases and understand purchase activity.
Purchase analytics and advertising
TapeSum sends RevenueCat a paywall-impression event when a loaded Pro offer is displayed. RevenueCat also processes purchase activity for entitlement management and purchase reporting. These records are associated with purchase-related identifiers; they are not worksheet or calculation-content uploads.
TapeSum does not include a separate general-purpose analytics SDK, session recording, advertising SDK or an app-wide calculation-usage funnel. It does not request advertising-tracking permission, collect the advertising identifier, or enable Apple Ads attribution-token collection in the app. There is no advertising in TapeSum.
Permissions
TapeSum does not request access to the camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location, calendars or notifications. You type measurements yourself. There is no camera measurement or AR feature. Opening the native share sheet does not give TapeSum access to your photo library or address book.
Sharing and support
When you choose Share summary, TapeSum passes the selected plain-text calculation or worksheet summary to the app or service you select. That summary can include names, original measurements, results, rounding details and dates. The receiving service handles the shared copy under its own privacy practices. Review the summary before sending it.
If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond to your request and investigate the problem. Email is handled through email service providers. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or confidential job-site information. You can use a non-sensitive example calculation instead.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Local worksheets and history remain until you delete them. You can delete individual entries or worksheets in the Library. Settings → Clear history removes history without deleting saved worksheets. Deleting a worksheet removes its saved calculations. Deleting the app removes its local app data from that installation; copies in backups, shared destinations or other services are managed separately.
Removing local calculations or uninstalling TapeSum does not cancel a subscription or automatically erase Apple or RevenueCat purchase records. Those records support purchase validation, restoration and applicable recordkeeping. There is no automatic expiry period for local history and no promise that purchase records are deleted when the app is removed.
For questions or requests concerning support correspondence or purchase-related personal information, email tapesum@gmail.com. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, or complain to a data-protection authority. We may need information to identify the relevant record; please do not send account passwords. We cannot retrieve local worksheets from your device or erase copies you shared with another service.
Security and service processing
Local content uses the app’s device storage. Purchase services use network connections and their own infrastructure, which may process information outside your country. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Support cannot recover deleted local worksheets from a server copy.
Changes and contact
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated with a new date. For help or privacy questions, contact tapesum@gmail.com. Website visits are covered separately by the website privacy information.
